Summertime Slam is a new model focusing on participation and inclusion. Run in term 4 at outdoor venues, students have the opportunity to participate in downball in a competitive environment - in the beautiful summer weather.
Tournament Details
Date - Tuesday, 3rd of December
Time - 9:30 am-2:30 pm
Location - Maroondah Nets, 154 Heathmont Rd, Heathmont
Age Groups - Grade 3/4 & Grade 5/6
COST: $80 per team
Divisions
Downball Australia is happy to announce that this tournament will have two separate divisions for the day. Please see the details below
'Respect' Division - This division caters to highly skilled downball players seeking competition against top-tier opponents. Expect nothing less than fierce yet fair battles on the court.
'Enthusiasm' Division - This division is designed for downball enthusiasts eager to showcase their skills and passion for the game against fellow players.
There are no set entry requirements for either, but we ask you to be considerate of the spirit of Downball and select each team's division based on your knowledge of their ability, keeping in mind the Downball Culture of Respect, Enthusiasm and Inclusiveness.
Teams
Teams are made up of up to 5 students. Students compete within their respective age groups and cannot participate in a younger age group. Please note that each school can send a maximum of 8 teams. Additionally, schools can only send a maximum of 4 Respect teams.
Format
Each team is scheduled 5 games across the day
Games are 15 minutes long each (7 mins free play, 5 mins elimination, 3 mins swap over)
Ladder points are allocated as 4 for a win, 1 for a loss and 2 for a draw. Percentage will be used as the ladder tie-breaker.
