Downball Australia is happy to announce our first-ever regional schools downball tournament, thanks to Shepparton City Council! Schools from across regional Victoria have an exciting opportunity to participate in this inaugural tournament!

Entry to the tournament is $90 per team.

Tournament Details

Date - Tuesday, 13th of May

Time - 9:15 am-2:45 pm

Location - Shepparton Sports Stadium, 120 Numurkah Rd, Shepparton VIC 3630

Age Groups - Grade 3/4 & Grade 5/6

Divisions

This tournament will have two separate divisions for the day:

• 'Respect' Division - This division caters to highly skilled downball players seeking competition against top-tier opponents. Expect nothing less than fierce yet fair battles on the court.

• 'Enthusiasm' Division - This division is designed for downball enthusiasts eager to showcase their skills and passion for the game against fellow players.

There are no set entry requirements for either, but we ask you to be considerate of the spirit of Downball and select each team's division based on your knowledge of their ability, keeping in mind the Downball Culture of Respect, Enthusiasm and Inclusiveness.

Teams

Teams consist of up to 5 students. Students compete within their respective age groups and cannot participate in a younger age group. Please note that each school can send a maximum of 12 teams.

Format

• Each team is scheduled 5 games across the day

• Games are 15 minutes long each (6 mins free play, 6 mins elimination, 3 mins swap over)

• Ladder points are allocated as 4 for a win, 1 for a loss and 2 for a draw. Percentage will be used as the ladder tie-breaker.

Tournament Entry

Entry to the tournament is $90 per team. Payment is required to confirm your team's position. Payment must be made by Wednesday, April 2nd, or your team's place may be offered to another school. If this will be an issue for your school, please get in touch with us so we can discuss alternative arrangements.

Please note - this tournament is targeted at Regional schools in Victoria. We will have further tournaments in Metro Melbourne which schools can enter
